Rosalie Manor Backgrounder

Rosalie Manor strives to prevent child abuse/neglect and teen pregnancy through early in-home prevention programming and community based group programming.

All of Rosalie Manor’s programs are voluntary, and include:

Supporting Teen Families is designed to provide intensive, family-centered services to pregnant and parenting teens and their families across Milwaukee.  The teen parent is the nucleus of this program with case management and parenting services being offered to the teen mother, her baby, her parent (or another support person), and the father of the baby.  This family-centered multigenerational approach has a greater impact on the family as a whole with a greater chance for long-term goal completion, strengthening of the family and reduction in child abuse and neglect.

Today’s Dads is designed to bring fathers into the parenting process by providing one-on-one case management services to assist fathers in areas such as establishing paternity, parenting skills, job seeking/training, education and support groups.

Family Resource Center of Sherman Park focuses on family strengths and builds self-esteem and confidence within families.  The programming is group based and works with the needs of the Sherman Park neighborhood.

Families United to Prevent Teen Pregnancy promotes abstinence until marriage with a life options approach by utilizing a curriculum that teaches topics on self-esteem, goal setting, decision making, values, adolescent development, relationships, communication and social skills and sexually transmitted infections.  In addition to working with youth between the ages of 12 to 18, FUPTP also collaborates with parents and families of participants.

In 2004-2005, the Family Services and Youth Development Departments served:

  • 1,538 families (1,077 in Family Services and 330 in Youth Development), and an additional 1,573 youth through our SPRANS Coalition which provides abstinence based education

  • Provided 4,172 home visits to those in our Family Services Department

  • Served 500 families through the Family Resource Center
