ROSALIE MANOR OFFERS FREE SUMMER LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM

Milwaukee, Wis., June 11, 2007 – Rosalie Manor Community & Family Services will offer a FREE life skills program for Milwaukee County youngsters ages 12-18 every Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., beginning June 25 and running through August 2.

The sessions are part of Rosalie Manor’s “Families United to Prevent Teen Pregnancy” program. The program promotes abstinence from sex and other high-risk behaviors, such as involvement in gangs and violence, and use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs. Among the topics that will be covered are:

  • Decision making
  • Goal setting
  • Self esteem and social skills
  • Understanding values
  • Positive relationships
  • Adolescent development
  • Sexually transmitted diseases

The sessions will be held at the Dr. Martin Luther King Center, 1531 W. Vliet Street, Milwaukee. Registration is required. Parents must register their children by calling Rosalie Manor at 414-449-2868, or via email at fuptp@rmcfs.org.
